The Department of English endeavours to provide students and scholars with a sound theoretical knowledge complemented with practical experience in the form of conferences, panel discussions, surveys and other academic activities carried out during the extensive research period. Another primary aim of our team is to reinforce classroom teaching through modern teaching techniques and state-of-the-art technology available in language laboratories and computer-aided programs.

With the vision of seeing a progressive Pakistan, we strive to offer a variety of need-based courses to provide the most effective and up-to-date skills to the undergraduate and graduate students of other departments of the university including Engineering, Business and Basic Sciences. This teaching is done with the vision to personally, academically and professionally groom the students through the values of humanism combined with innovation through cultural, social, political and economic processes. For enhancing research skills and to create visionary scholars for a better tomorrow, the department undertakes the responsibility of organizing research oriented seminars, talks, trainings and workshops for the professional and skill-based development of its faculty as well as students. Another aim of the department is to introduce English language and literature as a global means of communication in conjunction with national linguistic aspirations towards the ultimate objective of evolving Pakistani English along with contemporary trends around the world.
