AIR UNIVERSITY offers following schemes to assist the needy cum talented students at Bachelor & Master level programs:-

AU Sponsored MS & PhD Programs

AU pays back to society through Graduate Research Initiative Program. This program enables the students to take on professional challenges for excellent leadership careers in academia and industry. This scheme offers following benefits for selected candidates.

Scheme-I

  • -A stipend of Rs. 40,000/- per month(In Engineering Depts. and Rs. 20,000 per Month in Faculty of Computing & Artificial Intelligence)
  • -100% Tuition fee waiver
  • -Career progression through Lab Engineer, Teaching/ Research Assistant, Post-doc and faculty positions at Air University.
  • -Eligibility Criteria : ≥ 3.5 CGPA in Bachelor Degree
  • -A bond with University would be required.

Scheme-II

  • -100% Tuition Fee Waiver
  • -The selected students would be required to perform Teaching Assistant/ Research Assistant role with Dept.
  • -Eligibility Criteria : ≥ 3.5 CGPA in Bachelor Degree
  • -A bond with concerned Dept.. would be required.

Scheme-III

  • -50% Tuition Fee Waiver
  • -The selected students would be required to perform in Dept. as assigned by the Head of Dept.
  • -Eligibility Criteria : ≥ 3.0 CGPA in Bachelor Degree
Note:

All fee waivers are subject to continued academic performance in semester studies.

Educate to Innovate Scholarship Scheme (Only for MS Information Security and MS Avionics Engg)

  • -This scheme offers Full and Partial fee waiver to students with bright academic record.
  • -Eligibility criteria is CGPA 3.00 or above in the relevant bachelor degree

Additionally the selected students would have following opportunities:

  • -Chance to work as apprentice in industry projects after 1st semester for students with bright academic record and relevant skills
  • -The student will be working on Industry/Research Projects
  • -Data sharing for aerial vehicles
  • -GSM Security
  • -Sensor Fusion for mobile nodes

NEED & MERIT BASED FINANCIAL AID SCHEMES

In every Fall semester, AU invites applications from fresh entrants for financial grants at the time of applying for admission at AU portal. Based on the information provided by students, Financial Aid Office (FAO) prepares a list of needy/deserving students for financial grants. The scale of all need-based grants will depend on the availability of funds and would be reviewed periodically.

Following are categories of grants available to students at Air University:

  • (a) Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Projects, EUSP) (If Govt/HEC offers scheme)
  • (b) HEC Need Based Grant (Subject to funding in recurring grant)
  • (c) Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF)
  • (d) Air University Need Based Financial Grant (AUNBFG)
  • (e) Incentive Financial Grant (IFG) to AU Multan Campus
  • (f) PAF Wards Discounts/Rebate
  • (g) AU Employee Discount
  • (h) AU Employee Ward Discount/Rebate
  • (i) HEC Employee Ward Discount

Procedure to Apply for Financial Grants

  • 1. Following procedure would be followed: -
    • (a) All candidates who are applying for admission at AU in undergraduate program can also apply for financial grants on the prescribed form available with online- admission form while entering their personal and academic data.
    • (b) After confirmation of admission, the students would be required to submit the necessary documents at Financial Aid Office within fifteen days of commencement of semester.
    • (c) The students who missed to apply online at the time of Fall admissions can alsoapply to Registrar for financial grant on prescribed form within fifteen days of commencement of semester
    • (d) The students admitted in Spring semester would be eligible to apply for financial grant in the next fall semester on prescribed form.
  • Eligibility Criteria

  • 2. Following is eligibility criteria for award of financial grant to students: -
    • (a) Students admitted on open merit only are eligible for award of NBFG.
    • (b) Continuation of NBFG is subject to good conduct of the student and educational performance (minimum CGPA of 2.0) in the proceeding semesters. Financial Grant of the student having less than 2.0 CGPA will be discontinued and would be resumed only when student acquires CGPA ≥ 2.0.
    • (c) Only one NBFG to student is permissible i.e., students availing any other need based financial grant or departmental grant or employee concession will not be eligible for award of second NBFG.
    • (d) In a repeat case of penalty due to use of unfair means case or act of indiscipline, a student would be ineligible for any NBFG/Scholarship in following semesters.
    • (e) Ehsaas Scholarship will be offered to students as per HEC defined criteria.
    • (f) Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) will be offered as per PEEF defined criteria.
    • (g) HEC Need based financial grant will be awarded as per HEC criteria.
    • (h) PAF Ward discount/ rebate would be awarded 25% tuition fee rebate only on provision of requisite in-service/ retirement documents for normal degree duration only.
    • (i) AU Employee concession would be awarded 50% tuition fee rebate only with subject to meeting following conditions:-
      • i. Employee is not on probation period.
      • ii. In case of self-enrolment in a degree program, the employee would be required to produce NOC duly issued by HR department.
      • iii. The student is admitted on open merit in degree program
      • iv. Award is for normal degree duration only.
  • AU Incentive Financial Grant (IFG) for Multan Campus

  • 3. As per directives of the BOGs, students of AU Multan Campus are awarded incentive Financial Grant (IFG) on tuition fee which would be reviewed every year, keeping in view the availability of funds. HEC Employee Wad Discount
  • 4. Wards of HEC regular employee(but not on consultancy, contract or adhoc basis)would be awarded 50% Tuition Fee Concession for the complete degree program in the light of decision made in VCs Meeting held at HEC dated 7th August, 2004 (Ref: Item No 06). All such student would require to produce letter of employment of his/her father/mother from HEC HR Dept at the time of admission and letter on semester to semester basis.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS POLICY

Air University offers Merit based Scholarships to all outstanding students enrolled in different undergraduate and graduate programs based on their semester results.

Undergraduate Students

  • 1. In undergraduate programs following scholarships are awarded to top three position holders of each program of a batch as tuition fee waiver: -
    • (a) 1st Position Holder Rs. 25,000
    • (b) 2nd Position Holder Rs. 20,000
    • (c) 3rd Position Holder Rs. 15,000
    • (d) Students attaining SGPA of 4.0 will get Rs. 5,000 over and above. However, they would be included in the first three position holders in the class. Also, the total value of grant would not exceed from 100 percent of paid tuition fee through AU or any other documented sources.
  • Eligibility Criteria (for undergraduate students)

  • 2. Following is qualifying criteria for the merit scholarship of UG students: -
    • (a) Students of all Undergraduate programs are eligible for grant of Merit scholarship.
    • (b) Students must score minimum SGPA of 3.5 to qualify for the award of Merit Scholarship.
    • (c) Full time students with full academic load in a regular semester will qualify for award of Merit Scholarship.
    • (d) Merit Scholarships will not be awarded for summer semester.
    • (e) Students having disciplinary punishment during the semester will be disqualified for the award of merit scholarship for next one semester including concerned semester.
    • (f) A student would be granted merit scholarship along with Need Based scholarship or any other fee rebate through AU or external sources due to their parents but the accumulative award amount shall not exceed from 100 percent of paid tuition fee.
    • (g) Final Semester i.e., graduating batch will not be awarded Merit Scholarship.
    • (h) If there is a tie on first, second and third position between two or more students, calculated till two decimal points, all of them would receive financial reward of their respective positions however: they will be counted in position holders of the batch.
    • (i) In case of any conflict, Vice Chancellor’s decision would be final.
  • Postgraduate Students (MBA/MS/M.Phil.)

  • 3. In MBA/MS/ M.Phil. programs, scholarships are awarded to top three position holders of program of a batch for first two semesters only (with regular workload) in the shape of tuition fee waiver as shown below: -
    • (a) 1st Position Holder Rs. 25,000
    • (b) 2nd\ Position Holder Rs. 20,000
    • (c) 3rd Position Holder Rs. 15,000
    • (d) Students attaining SGPA of 4.0 will get Rs. 5,000 over and above. However, they would be included in the first three position holders in the class. Also, the total value of grant would not exceed from 100 percent of paid tuition fee through AU or any other documented sources.
  • Eligibility Criteria (for MBA/MS/M.Phil. students)

  • 4. Following is qualifying criteria for the merit scholarship for MBA/MS/M.Phil. students: -
    • (a) Students of all MBA/MS/M.Phil. Programs are eligible for Merit Scholarship.
    • (b) Students must score minimum of SGPA as 3.75 to qualify for the award of Merit Scholarship.
    • (c) Full time students with full academic load in a regular semester will qualify for the award of Merit Scholarship.
    • (d) Merit Scholarship will not be awarded for summer semester and thesis work duration.
    • (e) Students having disciplinary punishment during the semester will be disqualified for the award of merit scholarship for the next one semester including ongoing semester.
    • (f) A student would be granted merit scholarship along with Need Based scholarship or any other fee rebate through AU or external sources due to their parents but the accumulative award amount shall not exceed from 100 percent of paid tuition fee.
    • (g) If there is a tie on first, second and third position between two or more students, calculated till two decimals point, all of them would receive financial reward of their respective positions; however, they will be counted in position holders of the batch.
    • (h) The students enrolled in MS programs at AU on Gratis basis, as Research Assistant or on sponsorship (through AU or external sources), they would be counted towards merit position in the batch, but they shall be awarded only difference of merit scholarship amount and not exceeding 100% paid tuition fee.
    • (i) In case of any conflict, VC’s decision would be final.
  • Procedure for Award of Merit Scholarship

  • 5. Financial Aid Office would be responsible to process the case for award of merit scholarship to the eligible students within two months of declaration of semester final results. After finalization of merit scholarship, the students would be intimated by Financial Aid Office about the adjustment of award amount in fee or refund in the shape of payment draft.
