English for Specific Purposes

The purpose of this branch of the department is to improve English language skills of the university students. The teaching strategy focuses on four areas: Speaking, Reading, Comprehending and Writing. Hence we have a foundation level of two courses: (1) Communication Skills and (2) English Comprehension and Composition

This is followed by two professional courses: (1) Business English for AUSOM students and (2) Technical Writing for Engineering/applied sciences/computer students

This cutting-edge focused approach ensures a paradigm shift and overcomes the historical baggage of lukewarm to indifferent attitude towards ESP.
