Keeping in view the contemporary industry demands, the Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering program includes theory and Laboratory courses focusing on four core areas; Solid Mechanics and Design, Thermofluids, Manufacturing and Dynamics & Control while almost 30% of the courses cover Math, Physics, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management domains. The BE Mechanical Engineering program spreads over eight semesters (04 years) and requires successful completion of 136 credit hours, inclusive of theory and laboratory courses and project / research work.

The BEME program was one of the pioneering programs of Pakistan that were reaccredited under OBE system by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in 2016 due to its sound compliance of Washington Accord requirements. Since then, the department has successfully maintained OBE level-II accreditation of its Mechanical Engineering degree program and its BEME program remains one of the most sought-after engineering program of Air University.

Our graduate program offers the ultimate challenge in original research to enable our scholars to address issues at the cutting edge of technology. The department has 16 MS & PhD qualified and experienced faculty members to guide our Master’s and Doctoral scholars effectively.

The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering program offers specializations in two streams: Design Engineering and Fluid Power Engineering. The MS degree program requires successful completion of 25 credit hours of coursework and 6 credit hours of research work. Both the MS and PhD research is aimed at producing work which can meet the criteria for publishing in international journals of high repute.
