Air University has established a state-of-the-art Cyber Security Awareness Centre (CSAC) at Department of Cyber Security ‘C’ Block. The Centre is co-funded by the European Union (EU), under the Erasmus+ CBHE Grant for the project titled Re-thinking Cybersecurity in Pakistan – Human factors’ Essential Role (RECYPHER). The objective of establishing CSAC is to uplift and build capacity in the area of cybersecurity in Pakistan with a particular focus on human factors. At the CSAC, the students will be able to get hands-one experience and directly implement applied knowledge and create new research ideas as well as innovative cybersecurity solutions through interactive work. It will contribute in creating new possibilities for students including increasing cybersecurity awareness, higher employability, and creating networking opportunities with the Industry professionals including cyber security experts, psychologist among others.
In this regard, a cybersecurity student club, titled as AU Cyber Security Student Society has also been established to regularly organize cyber security awareness activities and sessions where students will use the CSAC to create their own projects and enhance their skills. The members of student club will act as multipliers in the future and establish networks between the industry and the students at Air University Islamabad.
