Air University was established as a federally chartered public sector university in October 2002. At faculty of Engineering, our focus is on electronics, telecommunication, power, computer, mechatronics and biomedical engineering while an undergraduate program in mechanical engineering is in place in university under the supervision of the Institute of Avionics and Aeronautics, also located on the same premises. We believe in producing well equipped human resources having desired skillset for the industry and well-groomed citizens for the country. Our faculty is well qualified, experienced and fully in tune with the Air University vision and mission and is working in accordance with changing trends in the industry. The engineering faculty provides state-of-art infrastructure with high-tech labs, an updated curriculum and vibrant campus life. Our labs are not only equipped with advance tools required to give desired hands on experience to our engineering graduates but also one of the best engineering facilities in Pakistan. Our programs are accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and our graduates are very well received in the industry. We are honored to have received Washington Accord level-II accreditation for OBE by PEC in all engineering disciplines.

We believe in disruption and innovation at the local level as well as international arena. Our students have started multiple startups and believe in developing products to add value in technical fields of respective engineering domains. They have participated in national and international competitions, the latest being the Shell Eco-Marathon held in Malaysia. AU BIC plays a very important role in developing an ecosystem in campus. Our students are not only taught entrepreneurship but also are engaged in different activities by AU-BIC. With an active research in the interdisciplinary domains of microsensors, biorobotics, advance control, machine learning, brain computer interfacing, sustainable energy and prosthetics, we are preparing our students towards product commercialization through innovation. Our research contributions put AU among top tier engineering universities in Pakistan. With a cumulative research funding of more than PKR 200M, we have developed number of state of the art post graduate research labs in Mechatronics, Biomedical and Electrical Engineering including MEMS sensor design and test lab, biomedical instrumentation, robotics and BCI.

Student experience has been a priority to us for a well-shaped personality through curricular and extra-curricular activities. We aim to develop skills through events, training programs, workshops, volunteer experience and a rigorous mentorship program. Promotion of R&D culture is another hallmark of our university. Our goal is to both challenge and support students as they develop the knowledge and skills that will enrich their lives and prepare them to enrich the lives of others. As a teaching and learning community, AU students, faculty and staff work together to support and bring out the best in each other.
