Department of Community Medicine at Fazaia Medical College held a Breast Cancer Awareness Session in collaboration with Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, for students and faculty on 24th Dec 2019 with full zeal and vigor under the guidance of Head of Department Dr. Rukhsana Khan. She acknowledged the support and mission of Pink Ribbon. The occasion was attended by honorable guests. Chief Guest was DCAS – T Air Head quarter AVM Amir Masood who gave his perspective over the importance of community awareness and integration of primary health care to prevent breast cancer and other non-communicable diseases.

Guest of honor was Dr. Ayesha Isani form Ministry of Health. She emphasized that measures should be taken at local, district, provincial and federal level to prevent breast cancer.

Panel discussion was organized in which Professor Brig. (R) Javed Iqbal Khattak, Brig. (R) Ashafq Ahmed and Brig. (R) Rizwan Hashim along with the students enlightened the importance of breast cancer awareness amongst the masses. They emphasized on the need of screening, early diagnosis and prompt treatment of breast cancer to make our society healthy.

Students held a procession with placards, and an information desk was setup by the students to collect donations and give away pamphlets and pink ribbons to the students and guests. A role play and poster competition was also organized. The efforts of the students were highly appreciated and they were given certificates.
